Galapagos, Peru, Bolivia: No Sacred Cows–Dispatch 1

Hello! The countdown to Peru has begun.  Already, Brunhilde is on the high seas, heading for Lima’s port, Callao, there to await us in solitary splendor (at least, I hope I reserved the luxury warehouse for her), while we tiptoe around the Galapagos for a week.  Actually, I’m considering trying out a new waterproof cover for my laptop while snorkeling.  Which do you think is more compelling:   Facebook?   Tropical fish?

Our departure date, Feb. 1, is fast approaching.   I have urged the IBF (Int’l Bribery Fund) to spare no expense to get Brunhilde out of customs in time for our hoped-for departure from Lima on Feb. 15.  If we have to tarry even one day longer, we’ll be fighting Mardi Gras revelers to get to the corner stop sign.  On the other hand, if we do tarry longer, we can join those revelers at the stop sign.   That actually sounds like a better plan to me…

More when I reach points south.
